
A very large Female Igbo figure, Africa, Nigeria
The enlarged feet supporting the slightly bent legs, the elongated torso framed by two arms with hands placed in front of the hips, the annulated neck supporting a massive head with typical scarifications and flared ears, all under a high coiffure, carved bracelets and anklets, scarifications on the torso, forehead and cheeks; light brown patina, with remains of white and black paint.

.... EIteljorg was an important collector in the 1950's and donated most of his collection to the Indiannapolis Museum where it is now on display.
