A  good Chinese Export Mandarin Punch Pot and Cover, Qianlong period (1736-1795)

of typical baluster form with a short spreading foot, the spout with floral moulding and the simple loop handle with a pointed end, the domed cover with a flat rim and a kylin finial, pierced with a small hole for steam, the body decorated with a large landscape scene panel  with figures on a barge within a rococo style border in underglaze blue and other smaller vignette landscape panels  in iron red with similar borders, all on a ground of scattered flowers with gilt scroll work, the top with a similar underglaze blue border.

Ht 35cm (overall), 27.5 (jug)
Condition:
The jug in overall good condition with a restored chip at the top, one surface chip to the body and some wear to the gilding; the lid with old restoration to rim in some places and the kylin finial cleanly broken at the base and missing the two front paws
