A late 19th / early 20th century South Indian carved and stained hardwood figure of a Rama

 

standing in typical pose wearing an elaborate jewelled costume and headdress holding a bow (now detached) on circular socle and square plinth base

 

Size:
99cm high approximately overall
Condition:
The figure detached from its base, the bow now detached and broken into sections, one finger on both hands lacking and cracks to index finger of one hand, the piece with typical scuffs, minor chips and losses commensurate with age
