A Chinese famille rose plaque, circa 1860

 

of rectangular form, decorated with two spotted deers, one seated holding a lingzhi fungus in its mouth and one standing beneath rockwork and a flowering tree with large peony blooms, with two butterflies flying overhead, within a pale blue border decorated with alternating flowers and the Eight Buddhist symbols (bajixiang) (unmounted)

40.3cm high, 27cm diameter
Condition:
The plaque unmounted with some fritting and enamel degradation to the edges, some minor wear to the surface enamels and four main areas of enamel flaking to the foliage design, the reverse of typical unglazed finish
