
A Chinese Doucai Bottle Vase, six character underglaze blue seal mark of the Qianlong period, 19th century
the broad ovoid body rising to a narrow slightly concave neck with a central ridge and a garlic form top, the base with a short faintly spreading foot, well decorated in doucai ('joined colours';'contrasting colours' in Chinese) colourings, the body with flowering branches including peach, lychee and lotus, the base with stylised lotus panels, the shoulder with a band of repeating ruyi form lappet design, the neck with a wavy line edged band of yellow enamel with iron red dots, the top with an alternating lappet and fleur de lys bordered light green enamel band heightened in iron red, the base with a six character underglaze blue seal mark for the Qianlong period.
