A Vizagapatam carved and pierced ivory and stained wood Trinket Box, circa 1900,

of gently domed shallow casket form with allover incised and blackened strapwork and scroll pierced panelled decoration, the central panel centred by a shaped cartouche, main twin bands with floral trellis decoration, sides with similar scroll pierced panels the edges with button nail head banding, the interior lined sandalwood, on paw feet

Size:
7.5cm high, 15cm wide, 13cm deep
Condition:
In fair condition, the ivory with some minor losses to applied scroll pierced decoration to the top, front and side panels, splits to the strapwork edges and some buttons and bosses lacking, the wood dried and with minor splitting in places,

£ 100 - 150
