A copy of the first ever comic book in which Superman appeared has sold at auction for a record price.
The 1938 edition of Action Comics No 1 yesterday (March 29th) sold for an unprecedented $1.5 million, according to the Associated Press.
The record had been broken twice already this year, with a same-edition Superman copy and Batman comic selling for $1 million and $1,075,000 respectively.
Stephen Fishler, co-owner of ComicConnect.com, who sold the item, said that while there had been a lot of activity in the market recently, this would likely be the last record-breaking sale for some time.
He told the news provider: "I can't imagine another book coming on the market that exists that would top this.
"This may be the final say - at least for the next 10 or 20 years - for a record price of a comic book."
There are an estimated 100 Action Comics No 1 in existence, though the record-breaking copy is said to be in mint condition.
